# Windows 11 Installation


## 🧰 PART 1: Create a Windows 11 Installation USB
### Step 1: Download the Media Creation Tool
1. Go to Microsoft’s official website:
    * [Download Windows 11](https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11)
2. Under **"Create Windows 11 Installation Media"**, click **Download Now**.

### Step 2: Create Bootable USB
__It's recommended to use a 8GB USB-stick__
1. Accept license terms.
2. Select **language** and **edition**.
3. Choose **USB flash drive** (make sure it's plugged in).
4. Select your USB drive from the list and click **Next**.
5. The tool will **download Windows 11 and create the bootable USB**.

## 💻 PART 2: Install Windows 11 (Clean Installation)
> ⚠️ This will **erase everything** on your system drive (usually C:). Make sure to **back up** your data.
Step 1: Boot from USB
1. Insert the USB into the PC.
2. **Restart your computer**.
3. Press the **Boot Menu key** (usually F12, F10, Esc, or Del) repeatedly when the PC starts.
4. Choose the USB drive from the boot menu.
> If your PC doesn't boot from USB, you may need to:Enter **BIOS/UEFI** settings (usually by pressing `Del`, `F2`, etc.).Enable **UEFI boot** and **Secure Boot**.Set USB as the first boot device.

### Step 2: Windows 11 Setup
1. **Choose language, time, and keyboard layout**, then click **Next**.
2. Click **Install Now**.
3. **I don’t have a product key**  It is already assigned to your motherboard itself.
4. Choose **Windows 11 **Pro.
5. Accept license terms and click **Next**.
6. Select **Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)**.
7. Select the drive/partition where Windows should be installed:
    * Delete all existing partitions on the main drive (usually “Drive 0”) if you want a clean install.
    * Select the **unallocated space** and click **Next**.
> Windows setup will now install Windows 11. This process can take 10–30 minutes and your PC will restart several times.

### Step 3: Set Up Windows 11
After the installation:
1. Choose your **region and keyboard layout**.
2. Connect to **Wi-Fi or Ethernet**.
3. Sign in with a **Microsoft account**
4. Follow the setup prompts (privacy settings, PC name, etc.).
5. Wait for Windows to finish setting up.


### Keep Your Files
# Step-by-Step: Install Windows 11 and Keep Your Files 
1. Start the Windows 11 Setup (Keep Files Option)
2. If you created an ISO, double-click it and run setup.exe.
If you used a USB, insert it and run setup.exe from the drive.
The Windows 11 Setup window will open.

3. Choose Download and install updates or (not right now)  → Next.
Accept the license terms. When prompted, choose Keep personal files and apps (this is crucial).
Follow the on-screen instructions to continue installation.

4. Let Windows Install
Your PC will restart several times.
When done, you’ll log back in to your same account — your Documents, Pictures, Downloads, and other folders will be intact.
Programs should also remain installed (if you chose keep apps and files).

## ✅ After Installation
1. Go to **Settings > Windows Update** and install all updates.
2. Install missing **drivers** (if needed, from your PC manufacturer’s site).
3. Reinstall your apps and restore your files from backup.
